It is my great pleasure to report that this August marks the five year anniversary of John Tuttle and myself walking into the Quarters and holding our first official “Let’s talk about game dev stuff” event!
Since then we’ve met hundreds of incredible developers & designers, we’ve hosted somewhere around 100 events, we’ve made and played more games than you can shake a Deku Stick at and most importantly, we’ve spent every anniversary of our first gathering atop Mount Sugarloaf. So, why stop now!?!
Please see all details below and come celebrate with us the first Sunday in August!
Pat King | Pioneer Valley Game Developers
Come join us on the top of Mount Sugarloaf (http://www.mass.gov/eea/agencies/dcr/massparks/region-west/mount-sugarloaf-state-reservation.html) and help us celebrate the FIVE-YEAR Anniversary of the Pioneer Valley Game Developers! We’ll be playing games, highlighting fun times over the past year, climbing a cool tower and eating yummy food. This is family friendly, so please spread the word.
We’re grilling burgers (veggie and beef) for those who RSVP through Meetup.com or Facebook at least 48 hours before the event. It is a potluck, so please bring something tasty to contribute.
The park charges $5/vehicle to drive to the top ($10 out of state). Hiking is free! Parking at the bottom is free!
WHAT TO BRING
• a side dish (It’s a potluck)
• non-water beverages if you’d prefer (they say alcohol is not permitted)
• games (outdoors, board, whatever is appropriate)
• families and friends
• sunscreen and other things to make you comfortable and safe
• blanket if you feel like sitting in the sun & grass (there are picnic tables)
• good attitudes
Just like any good outdoor cookout and game dev group, we’ll want to play games. We’re bringing some board and yard games, if you have anything to contribute please bring it too!
This will be fun.
